After Oswald, our somewhat terrifying White Rabbit is getting the “Sweet Treatment”. Gone are the days when parents would cringe on the way into the Alice Tunnel. Just waiting for the gesso to dry, and then it is time to get cracking!

Owen Smith, Chair of the Illustration Program at the California College of Arts, brought his Narrative Drawing students to come and draw in the park the last week of classes. It was great to watch them discover Fairyland for the first time.

So, right now I am in the middle of working on the famous Oswald and his mushroom. Oswald has gone through many changes in the past, and after a decade or more of being generally terrifying…I decided to tone him down a bit. This is the top half of him, and tomorrow I tackle the lower half (which is bolted on top of the mushroom) along with the mushroom itself.
